Barclay's Center introduced itself to the world yesterday with opening remarks, "Hello Brooklyn!" The Groundbreaking Ceremony took place yesterday on site of the Atlantic Yards. Of Course, Proud Papa Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) was in attendance. Construction will begin promptly to build the new home for the NBA Nets to host home season games. Some doubted that this day would ever become reality looking back on the controversial legal battles over the Atlantic Yards. Protests were expected but were faded out in honor of the ceremony. Brooklyn's own, Spike Lee was also in attendance and of course Mrs. Carter herself, Beyonce.
